Orange County, California is one of the more entertaining and activity packed places a person can find with beaches, multiple shopping centers and of course, amusement parks. That's probably why it is a popular destination for families when they take their vacations as there is something for everyone.
The Gunderson family did just that back in June when the summer vacation and work allowed them to take a family trip together. There were a couple of days for shopping and site seeing, going to the beach and then the culmination of the whole trip...Disneyland!
"The kids have been looking forward to going there for months", said Paul Gunderson.
Since they live in Albuquerque, New Mexico they decided to drive instead of fly so they could have more quality time together and see parts of the Southwest they wouldn't normally get to view, like a stopover at the Grand Canyon.
"We got here and made the rounds of the beach and going to all the malls in Orange County and the last three days of the trip were so we could go on every ride at the park."
After the first day of fun and roller coasters the family went back to their hotel, had dinner and called it a night so they could be sure rise early for another fun day of family fun.
"I don't know what happened", he said. "I'm a very organized person and tend to always keep everything in their right place so I know where they are. I either keep my keys in my front right pocket or set the on the night stand. Have been doing that since I can remember."
Apparently somewhere between after dinner and waking in the morning Paul noticed the keys were missing.
After a long and stressful search he assumes that he "must have set them down somewhere on top of the car." It seems that when they were unloading the goods purchased from earlier in the day they keys made their way to somewhere other than the hotel room.
Orange County not only has many opportunities for family amusement but also very dependable locksmiths who can help in any situation. Going back to the room Mr. Gunderson phoned a locksmith who came out and not only opened the car for him, but re-programmed the locks in case any car burglars were in the area and found the keys.
"I can't tell you how happy I was that he could come out so quickly and do the work, and I never would have thought to re-program the key like that, he was a great guy, very professional."
Keys are very important but also quite small and easy to misplace.
