One of the best things about Seattle is the people. With their varying cultures, tastes, artistic sensibilities and business prowess they make all feel welcome to enjoy everything that the city has to offer. Seattle is well-known as being one of the best cities around. The Space Needle, Experience Music Museum, the pier and fish markets, a groundbreaking music scene, hi-tech industries and not to mention, a certain coffee shop (or two) that got their start in this very city.
With all of these sites and events to take in and experiences to be had one can spend countless days, if not weeks with a full schedule. Being a city that sees people come and go for various reasons and visits this does not discount the large amount of musicians that come to the city to play concerts and record here. Many a band that is successful today has influences that have been spawned from this very city and they are always happy to make their way to Seattle when their tour itinerary brings them here. Regardless of all the excitement and fun a visit to Seattle can be for musicians and fans alike, the venues and concerts here have certain needs for security and were due to be revised to meet standards of safety for everyone.
Those who are first and foremost in a band or musician's heart are their fans. These people support their art, come in droves to performances and purchase their CD's and downloadable music. In order to keep safety a high priority many club and larger venue owners have begun installing fire emergency doors with alarm activated switches. No one wants to think their evening is going to be anything other than fun and inspiring watching one of their favorite bands, but with all the possibilities that exist with large numbers of people in any size room, better safe than sorry is the welcome measure.
Bands are also in need of security and not just the guys in front of the stage or at the backstage door. While getting an autograph or photo with a favorite performer is enough to make someone try and break in to the backstage and dressing room areas, the safety of each band member is also quite important. Many of the venues have installed intercom systems in addition to the hand-held radios used at entrance doors allowing for the security guards to be able to focus on safety and protection of the artists and fans.
Closed circuit television systems have also made their way into the music scene as it provides a clearer view of monitoring dangerous situations outside the venue, around the bands transportation and are convenient and easy for installation.
All that Seattle has to offer is for everyone who is in the city and while there is a lot to do there is also the benefit and peace of mind that yours and everyone's safety and security are considered of the highest importance.
